Considerations

  • To initiate the business verification process, your account must meet Meta’s requirements.
  • If you don’t see the “Start Verification” button in the Security Center but believe you need to verify your business, confirm that the product or feature you’re trying to access requires business verification. If you received a notification or email stating that you need to verify your business, you can refer to them for information on how to get started.
  • You must have full control of the business account.
  • If you provide false or misleading information during the verification process, attempt to claim and verify a business you’re not authorized to represent, or attempt to circumvent Meta’s verification review systems, you may not be able to verify your business, your verified business status may be removed, or other actions may be taken.

Important Note:

It's important to highlight that while verifying your business is not a direct requirement to use Reach, it is necessary to access Meta's products and services. Therefore, while you can create a Reach account without verifying your business, it's important to note that if you decide to use additional Meta services, such as creating a catalog, your WhatsApp number could be blocked, and you will be asked to verify your business by Meta.

Important Note:

The Meta business account, sometimes called the "business manager account," will be renamed the "business portfolio." This change will be gradually implemented across Meta's technologies.

How to Verify Your Business

  1. Go to the Business Manager Security Center, Click Start Verification.

You may have received a notification to start verification on another platform, such as Meta's ad manager, sales manager, or app developer panel.

  1. Provide details of your business: such as the legal name of the company, address, phone number, and website.

Important Note:

Ensure that the details you provide match exactly with the details of your legal business entity. Make sure your business website loads correctly and complies with the HTTPS protocol.

  1. Confirm Business Details If no matching record is found, upload supporting documents, such as a business license or articles of incorporation, to confirm the details you entered.

  2. Choose a method to confirm your connection. If you choose email, phone, text message, or WhatsApp, a confirmation code will be sent. To confirm your connection through domain verification, follow these steps.

    • Email (the domain of the business email address must match the domain of your website).
    • Phone
    • Text message
    • WhatsApp message
    • Domain Verification (you must have administrator access to your website’s web hosting or DNS provider).
  3. When you’re finished, click Done.

Important Note:

Once you submit your verification request, the decision may take between 10 minutes and 14 business days. You will receive a notification when the review is complete. If you receive confirmation of your business verification, you do not need to take additional steps.

You can edit your business details anytime.However, if you make a change, you’ll need to complete the business verification process again.

Considerations When Migrating to WhatsApp API

When transitioning to the WhatsApp API, it’s important to consider some peculiarities in the platform. Here we detail some key considerations:

  1. Conversation Dynamics:

    • A cost per conversation is established, distinguishing between those initiated by the business and those initiated by the customer.
    • You have access to 1,000 free incoming conversations per month, with the flexibility to not count conversations initiated by advertising.
    • Costs for excess conversations are managed directly by META through Facebook Business Manager, with the possibility of adjustments in policies.
  2. Management of Previous Conversations:

    • The option to back up previous conversations is not enabled. It is recommended to export your chats before migrating to Reach to maintain a record in .txt format.
  3. Group Interaction:

    • The platform currently does not offer the functionality to create or join groups.
  4. Initiation of Creative Conversations:

    • To start a conversation, the use of templates previously authorized by WhatsApp is required, offering an innovative way to interact with customers.

    • The functionality to post stories directly from the platform is not yet available.
  2. Product Presentation in Carousel Format:

    • In carousel format product posts or ads, Meta does not transmit specific product information requested, defaulting to showing the image of the first product in the carousel. It is suggested to provide the post link for a more detailed experience.
  3. Starting Conversations:

    • Starting conversations with customers is limited in this specific case; the customer comments on a post, and if the customer has a public account, only then can they send a message to start a conversation.
  4. Responses to Dynamic Stories:

    • Responses to stories only show a preview while the story is active, offering a more dynamic and timely interaction.
  5. Sending Images with “View Once” Format:

    • Images with “view once” format will not be displayed since Meta does not send the information of such multimedia.
